Show Notes
Welcome to the very first episode of The Smart Runner Podcast, I’m your host Larry Maguire. First off let me tell you a little of what the show is about. Very simply, this show is for marathon runners.
It doesn’t matter what you ability level or experience is, this show is for you. If you are just starting out or you’ve been running for many years, you’ll find content here on the show to help you reach your goals.
We might be shy about admitting it openly, but we all have goals in relation to our running. We want to complete the 26.2 comfortably, we want to achieve a particular time, we want to test ourselves and find out more about ourselves.
I’ll be bringing you content on the weekly podcast and on the blog at thesmartrunner.com in the areas of training, nutrition and mindset.
The Content
When we can find a good balance across all three elements we can perform to our best. When you train efficiently taking into account your entire structure and not only running training, feed you body the right kinds of foods, and prepare you mind to perform at it best, then you can produce great results.
Every week you can get guest interviews, advice from experts, some strong opinion from yours truly and the odd bit of colourful language from time to time just to spice things up!
The Smart Runner Podcast goes out every Thursday on iTunes, stitcher Radio & Soundcloud and a host of other platforms. So no matter what app you like to get your podcasts you’ll be able to access the show. For all episodes including show notes, links and downloads, visit thesmartrunner.com.

A little About Me
I’m generally not one for talking about myself. However I accept it has some relevance here given that this is an introductory show.
My name is Larry Maguire and I live in Dublin with my wife Joanne and three children. I run marathons and other endurance events for fun and personal challenge. Professionally I am a writer, content creator and digital marketing advisor to business.
I’ve managed to complete about 80 marathons, ultras and other long distance events over the last 5 or 6 years, 42 of those on consecutive days in 2015.
Over the years, through trial and error I’ve managed to pick up a few things that I want to share with you and my hope is that you get some benefit from the information.
In my spare time I offer one to one and group coaching to beginner and intermediate runners looking to shift body fat, get faster times, improve their marathon running and general health.
