Let Me Show You How To Make A Natural Protein Shake At Home In 3 Minutes Flat

Protein is an essential element for building and maintaining muscle – Agreed?

So, when it comes to protein (and other elements of good nutrition) it pays your body to be informed.

That’s why I created The Burn-Fat Run-Faster Program and this short video below that I recorded as part of the program.

The Burn Fat Run Faster Program is about creating clean eating habits. Habits that will benefit your body, generate excess fat loss and help you achieve your running goals.

If you truly care about what goes down your neck and you wish to make your diet as clean as possible, then you need to ditch commercially produced protein.

Is Powdered Protein Bad?

No, powdered protein is not necessarily bad, however let’s be clear…

Commercial entities who mass produce food do so for commercial interests. They are not interested, at least primarily, in your wellbeing.

Food companies employ food scientists to engineer food that lasts as long as possible on the shelf and brings the company the greatest degree of bang for their buck.

They will sacrifice as much as the “system” will allow them to get their stuff on the shelf as cheaply as possible.

Now that’s not a judgement call on my part, I’m not being critical of these entities as they are entitled to do their business whatever way they wish…

However, you and I have a choice.

Here’s a better one when it comes to protein. I don’t use powdered protein any more and I’ve made this short video to show you how to make a natural protein shake at home.

Ingredients

  • 3 Free Range Organic Eggs
  • 1 Medium Banana
  • 2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (melted)
  • Ice (Optional)

Consider adding the following as a variation;

  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence
  • A small handful of berries
  • 100 ml Coconut milk/ water

Method

1. Break up the banana and add to the blender.

2. Crack the three eggs into the blender

3. Whizz up for 15 to 20 seconds

4. Melt the coconut oil on a gentle heat

5. While the blender is running, drizzle the melted coconut oil into the mixture

6. While the blender is running add the ice if you choose.

And that’s it.

All that’s left for you to do is clean up and enjoy your Natural Protein Shake made at home in about 3  minutes.

  1. this looks so easy! And is a great healthy, low cost alternative to the expensive, chemical- laden powders I have been using for some many years.

However, I am hesitant to eat the eggs raw. Is the taste well-masked by the other ingredients? ?

Thanks so much for this, and all the other great information you offer to runners!

    1. Hi Irene, thanks for stopping by. I eat raw eggs all the time and I’ve never had a problem. I keep mine refrigerated.

There is quite a bit of fat in this drink so best to use on a low carb plan. And yes it tastes good. Try adding raspberries or vanilla essence. Ice is good addition to if you like.

Here’s the typical figures for food used in this drink.

      Coconut Oil
      0g protein
      28g fat
      0g carbohydrate

      Banana large
      1.5g protein
      0.3g fat
      31g carbohydrate

      3 x Egg raw large
      18g protein
      14.4 fat
      1.2 g carbohydrate
